What sticks out?
Two phrases… “You are the God of my strength” and “(You are) the help of my countenance and my God.”
What does that mean?
You are the source of my strength… You are the One that provides strength… You are the One who I will pray to when I need strength to face opposition.
You are the One that changes the expression on my face. You’re the One who helps me stop frowning and start smiling.
Where does this make a difference?
Who am I turning to for help? Often, my first instinct is to turn to myself or to another person. The Psalmist has turned to God. I need strength so I’ll turn to You. You are the One that eases my pain or anxiety.
I do have a source of strength. He is reliable. I will call out to You… even as You wait to respond.
